What is a Kyusu?

Kyusu is a Japanese side-handle teapot engineered for quick, clean pouring and multi-infusions.

  • Not a kettle—boil water separately (tetsubin/ketttle).

  • Small capacity (240–400 ml) keeps extraction precise.

  • Built-in strainer handles deep-steamed sencha without clogging.

Care & Notes

  • Do not heat on stovetop. Rinse and air-dry; avoid detergent if unglazed.
  • Fine mesh:rinse from the outside to clear fine leaf.

  • First-use:quick rinse with warm water to temper the clay.
